There's a patch that need to be applied in order to get the game to save beyond one session: http://www.gamemillpublishing.com/updates.html. Also, you can't use promotions from the store or the game won't save at all. It's a real tragedy that such a great looking (and sounding) game has such a stupid, basic coding issue that ruins it.
