Do you ever just have too much to do and then discover that there is a game that you are absolutely desperate to play and just don't have the time? Well, join my club today! I decided to just check out
Sweet Lily Dreams: Chapter 1, which was recently released at Big Fish Games. I was only going to take a quick peek, I promise! Well, one hour later I was devastated to have to stop playing.
Now, I pulled on my big girl panties and decided not to buy it (yet!); but, my goodness, this is a time when I wish I wasn't a responsible adult. I hope you aren't in my situation and are able to just jump right in and start playing without ceasing. Before I begin reviewing the game itself, let me just say that I am absolutely going to buy this game and will most likely write a guide for it. I am just going to have to clear the decks beforehand because I won't be able to stop once I start! So without further ado…
Sweet Lily Dreams is an absolutely wonderful new RPG game. I'm guessing that the developers used a brand new game development software update because the graphics are so much better than the RPGs I have played recently (the last Aveyond, Witch and Warrior, etc.). The graphics are still RPG graphics but the level of detail is very good. Just take one look at Lily's bedroom and all the intricacies and you will know what I mean.
Needless to say, I just played
Sweet Lily Dreams for an hour and thus don't know the entire plot, but initially the game dives into a little girl named Lily’s dreams and off into interesting adventures you go. The game takes you into the typical explore, pick up objects, complete quests, and fight monsters that all RPGs do. The main differences are the level of extraordinary detail in the graphics.
In addition, there are potions to make with items you pick up along the way. There are items for potions but I was never able to make one to find out what one would do because I hadn't come across any empty bottles; however, there were quite a few items to be "crafted." There are some mini-games and other new details listed below.
In all honesty, I cannot do justice to describing
Sweet Lily Dreams after only playing an hour, so I found the following from the developer. After playing the demo and then reading this, all I can say is YES! And then try to figure out how to get everything done so I can sit down and play this game straight through. I am feeling that this game has the potential for being the best one out there. It is THAT good! And did you notice that it said Chapter 1?!!!! So, there will be more after this one., I am just so excited to find out more about this game.
So read on, watch the trailer, download the demo… and I dare you not to get sucked in and play the entire game. I know I will be right behind you!
From the Rose Portal Games:
Everyone dreams. And in those dreams, everyone is connected.
In the city between realities, the guardians of the dream world protect the balance between good and nightmare. Faith is one of them, though her clumsiness leads to dangerous situations. She is sent out to the dream of a little girl named Lily, but fails the mission yet again. Lily follows her back to the guardians' city, where Faith is suspended from duty.
News reaches the guardians that a wicked dream world has appeared that threatens the balance, one composed of classic stories such as Doctor Jekyll, Dracula, and Baba Yaga. Faith sees it as an opportunity to prove her worth again. Along with Lily and two other dream creatures, they secretly set out. But, while on their quest, the guardians begin to question their actions. Do they have the right to invade other people's dreams and erase their darkest imaginations? What makes light better than darkness?
The monsters we should fear are not the ones in our dreams, but the ones that live inside of us. And sometimes, they win.
