A few of you may remember this summer when I was asked to interview the developers of the game Pahelika: Revelations before it came out, and I got to ask a bunch of amazing questions about the new upcoming game. Well, the game's out now so I thought that it was my solemn duty to play that game instead of doing the bibliography for my paper tonight. See the sacrifices I make for you! You’re welcome!

Anyhow, if you played the first Pahelika, then you should have no problem jumping into this game because it starts off right where the last one ended… if you haven’t played the first one, then you may be a bit lost trying to figure out what’s going on in the story. Here’s a quick recap… you found a magic book called Pahelika… it transports you to all these weird places, and you have to try to figure out what’s going on and where you are and how to get back home.
When we begin this game, you still have no idea what the book means or what it is or what it’s for, so you begin to try to unravel the mystery. The gameplay is very similar to the first one, although they have done an amazing job improving the graphics in this sequel and the animations are great!

A small word of warning for this game though, it’s not for the faint of heart… it’s challenging. It’s not always easy to figure out what to do next, and there’s no hint button, I repeat… no hint button… to help you out, so it can be a lot of trial and error. I had to write things down to help me solve puzzles and figure out what to do next. Now, if you like a challenge like that, then this game is perfect for you!
You’ll spend the first couple of scenes trying to fix the electricity in your home, which was odd, but once you do, you see that the magician’s tower from the first game has magically transported itself into the middle of a city!

Using the book, you begin your magical journey discovering the insidious plot of an evil wizard who was imprisoned long ago, and who you mistakenly set loose in the first one! Oh no! Now it’s your job to use Pahelika… who talks by the way… yup a talking book, to find the sands of infinity and use the powers of the elements to defeat this evil wizard before he takes over the world!

Overall, Pahelika: Revelations is pretty fun to play if you’re up for the challenge. I still think not having a hint button though is a little risky because, at times, I wanted to throw the computer out the window when I couldn’t figure out what to do next… but I refrained from such drastic measures and used my brain and eventually figured it out… if only my homework would work itself out that easily…
