Yo. It's me again, Lucy. I was right, my brother is up to something, but I can't disclose that information until I talk to Anne in person (yes, Anne, I know your reading this from afar - I'll tell you when we meet up in LA). In the meantime gamers, check out this great game I just wrote a guide for.
The game is Macabre Mystery: Curse of the Nightingale. This is a very, VERY long game and well worth the money, I might add. So, what was so great about it you ask? Just about everything! First of all, you get a letter 30 years after your grandfather disappears inviting you to his theater... his haunted theater! There are several ghosts in this game that, if you had 3D glasses, would jump right out at you! I was so immersed in this game with its ghosts and twisted mystery that I nearly forgot I had to pack to head back to college. In fact, I'm writing this blog on the plane. Anne and I and a few others are renting a house for our senior year, I've only seen pictures, but I can't wait to move in and have some freedom. Kismet, my black cat (of course), is in a airline certified carrier under the seat in front of me. Anne said she was bring her cat also. I hope they get along. Enough about me, back to the game.
This game, besides being spectacularly spooky, is nearly perfect. The graphics are a-maz-ing! As I mentioned earlier, 3D ghosts anyone? The puzzles are... different. I've never played this sort of puzzle before and it's very hard to describe. The game consists of only two types of puzzles, both very different from any other game I have played. They are both moderately hard types of puzzles and there are quite a few. There are a ton of hidden object areas and I'm talking over 35 hidden object locations! Instead of choosing from a list of words, you actually get to see what you're looking for. While you would think this is a good thing, think twice, they were pretty darn hard and I think of myself as being quite the hidden object game coinsurer. After all, I have played all of Anne's leftovers. The plot is fab and has twist after twist. I hated to turn off the game when it got to be into the wee hours of the morning., but I knew I really should get "some" sleep.
The Collector's Edition does give you some bonus game play, but because of the way the hidden object areas are done, there is no replay ability to this game. The objects will always be the same. I would save my money for the regular edition, but that's really up to you. The guide was really meant for those of you saving your money for the regular edition. Either way, you want to play this game. Why? Because I said so, that's why!
I'm in the middle of my six hour flight and I think I'll try and get some shut eye. It's going to be a very long day and I know jet lag will catch up with me eventually. I wonder if the house we're renting is really old. Maybe there's a ghost... or a hidden mystery. Hmmm...? Either way, finding all my belongings that are arriving in boxes by UPS is going to be like a real life hidden object game! Ciao!
