Hidden Expedition: The Uncharted Islands Collector's Edition Walkthrough
Hey gamers! I just started back to classes. Senior year! Finally! Myself, Lucy, Jasper and Xavier are all living in a house we rented for senior year. It's a lot of fun, but at the moment, I'm glad I'm not sharing a room with Lucy as I'm feeling a little betrayed. When I picked her up at the airport she had some bad news. Not only is Curtis staying in Pennsylvania to continue college, but... he cheated on me over the summer! I'm devastated and a little hurt. I know I shouldn't hold it against her, it's not her fault, but right now I'm a little touchy. My life in other words is a melodrama, or sardoodledum (pronounced sar-doo-dell-dum). Yes, that really IS a real word and yes, I'm a word nerd. At least I have the company of my ginger puss, Mr. Darcy (I'm also a huge Jane Austin fan). Well, enough about me right now, on to the game!

I decided to drown my sorrows in Hidden Expedition: The Uncharted Islands. I love the Hidden Expedition games, but I have to say, this one was a little disappointing. It wasn't very long, there weren't very many hidden object areas, the game was very touchy - as in you often had to click several times to hit just the right spot - and most of the puzzles made absolutely no sense, even with the help of the built in guide. No worries though. I have written out detailed instructions and even threw in screenshots and a few videos for you.
What did I like about the game? Well, first off, it wraps up the story started in Hidden Expedition: The Devil's Triangle. So in case you were wondering, yes you need to play that game before you play this game. Secondly, the graphics, as always, are stunning and the storyline intriguing. There was some changes to the game play, most notable were the extended hidden object scenes were you had to find four items along with using your inventory items to advance and find more items. This could go on for a long time until you reached the end of whatever it was you were after. The journal made me laugh out loud and the entries really brought a new depth to the game. The problem is, when the game ended, it did not let you finish reading the journal even though there were some more entries. Frustrating! Whoever wrote the journal in the game was very witty and I really enjoyed it.
There is a small bonus game with the collector's edition, some wallpaper, and artwork, but as usual, this guide was written to go with the regular edition when it releases. While I was a little disappointed in the game, I'm glad I played it because it is one of my favorite series. I just felt it was rushed and lacking a little. It is, however, still enjoyable. Remember, read the journal!
So what's next for me? A new boyfriend? Ha! That aside, I'm going to working on Awakening: The Goblin Kingdom, another favorite series of mine. Until next time, happy gaming!
